I sent this to Leinil when I started inking that Silent Dragon issue (I only worked on issue 5 and I did the entire issue)
I was really excited to finally get to work with him...and I also wanted to get him excited that he was able to work with me...I felt like showing him ""hey you can basically draw ANYTHING, and I am going to nail it for you"
That is a HUGE ace in the hole for a penciler...I think the biggest fear a penciler has is your work is going to "drift" when handed on down the line. I wanted to show him...not only do I have you back...I can make this stuff move forward if you want.
It was an awesome time...and I hope we can do it again
man, leinil yu is one of my favorites. I'm going to begin following your work, if you can compliment his work as an inker, that bespeaks of your own abilities as an artist. I hear inkers usually have issues with pencillers who draw really tight finishes but you handled this like a champ. I'm an aspiring artist and line control is very difficult to handle. I've worked over samples from other professionals and deciding what type of mark to make isn't EASY. I really admire your control and story telling qualities. very nice.
