Super cool Divine Right cover...for the collection cover I think.
Pencils by Jim Lee and inks by me....kind of interesting but when I see this cover it reminds me of this thing Jim said to me one time...I think Frank Miller had just done a piece and it was just a fist...and he goes "I could never do a cover like that it would just feel too weird and incomplete" (not his exact words but that was the basic gist of it and it was a compliment to Miller because we liked the cover a LOT)
I always felt like he COULD do stuff like that and to me this cover although not pedal to the metal detail is a ROCK solid piece and I think a great comic cover.
it stops you in your tracks, draws your attention right in, it's got a solid composition that pulls your eye right to the point of interest...and I think it's different enough that if there were 70 covers on a wall...you'd for sure see this piece, if for nothing else...the amount of black and strong shape the pose on it creates.
so I don't know....Jim I think you can do stuff like this and it's STILL as powerful and something very detailed.
