Here's the bigger scan on this.

I explained in some of the posts that this work can be difficult to scan or get digital pics of.

I used a Gold acrylic paint on this piece and between that and how black my ink was...it was very reflective and just tough to get a nice reproduction of. Other than that tool used would be india ink...tech pens specifically...and all the circles are freehanded when I inked them...it's easier to do it that way so you don't have a template slip and then a circle that's off....when you are doing so many concentric circles.

I did this as a commission for a local art gallery....it was a group show with about 50 other fine or contemporary artists...it was my first non-comic or like non- "hipster" low brow art show. The other work being shown was totally removed from that world ("our" world I'll call)

It felt good to try something different and it went well...the gallery seemed to REALLY like it and I am going to try and get a solo show there in the future.

thank you. most people think it's more Mucha inspired. I was thinking Klimt....the gold paint was a very simple comparison or element to add...but all the tiling and detail was Klimt in the back of my mind (without doing something totally obvious of course.)

originally it was going to be a painting but because of the size (it's fairly small) it would have been a bit pointless to try and do it on that scale.
